What are the odds of snapping two of River Island’s designers at GFW? I swear on my Margaret Howell wide-leg trousers that this isn’t deliberate…
First up is Andy Grant Design Manager at River Island, who is wearing Raf Simons trainers. Andy is sporting a deceptively simple look, but little details like the cutaway collar, gold Casio watch and subtle shine finish of the windcheater really make the outfit work.
This madras shirt obviously caught my eye, it belongs to Russell who also works on the River Island design team. His shirt is vintage but he assured me that River Island had some madras lined up for this summer.
The check is given even more of a summery feel with the rope-handled bag which looks suspiciously like a less rubbish version of the ‘I’m Not a Plastic Bag’ bag. I like it!
